Refreshing vocabulary
Hi buddies!!!

If you want to know a little bit of some car ´s parts in English, these are the most but very useful words:
1.- Car body = carrocería
2.- Sparks= bujías
3.- Exhaust pipe= tubo de escape
4.- Windscreen wipers= limpiaparabrisas
5.-Number plate= matrícula
6.- Bonnet (UK), Hood (US)=capot
7.- Boot (UK), Trunk(US)= maletero
8.- Tyre=neumático
9.-Bumper= paragolpes
10.- Wind mirror= espejo retrovisor
11.- Headlights= luces de cruce
12.- Fog lights= antinieblas
13.- Windscreen=parabrisas
14.-Sunroof= techo solar
15.-Steering wheel= volante
16.-Accelerator=acelerador
17.- Dashboard=salpicadero
18.-Clutch=embrague
19.-Gear stick=palanca de cambio
20.- Break=freno
21.-Indicator=intermitentes (palanca)
22.-Handbrake= freno de mano
23.-Heating controls=calefaccion
24.-Speedometer= velocímetro
25.-Rim= llanta
26.- Gloves box=guantera
27.- Ignition= contacto
28.- Rear view mirror= espejo retrovisor central

Nice, dude. But don´t we use "rear mirror" for "retrovisor" and "cuadro de controle"s for "dashboard"?

How silly, I have just seen "rear mirror" at the bottom, Sorry about that.

Gearbox = caja de cambios
Automatic Transmission = caja de cambios automática
Range transmission=casa semiautomática / automatizada
Reverse=marcha atrás
Wheel=rueda (completa)
Rear shaft=eje cardan
Shaft / Axle=eje
Angle drive= reenvio
Dumper/Absorber/Cushion= amortiguador
Coil Spring=muelle de suspensión / muelle de amortiguador
Fork=Horquilla
Piston Ring=segmentos de piston
O-Ring=junta tórica
Seal=junta de goma
Joint=junta
Shaft Seal Ring = Retén
Oil sump=carter de aceite
Intake=admisión
Crankshaft=cigueñal
Rocker=balancin
Gear=piñón
Ring gear=corona dentada
Worm gear = corona con engranaje sin fin
Worm=Engranaje sin fin
Bearing=rodamiento
Roller bearing=rodamiento de bolas
Needle bearing = rodamiento de agujas
race bearing=pista de rodamiento
bearing cap=tapa de cojinete/rodamiento
Race bearing= jaula de rodamiento
Washer=arandela
Lockwasher=arandela de presión
cup spring=arandela muelle
Safety ring= anillo de seguridad
Bold/screw=tornillo
Nut=tuerca
Pin=bulón/pasador
Plunger=pasador
Roll pin= bulón / pasador
Flange=brida
Yorke=Horquilla / Yugo
Wiring=cableado
Wiring harness=mazo de cables
Pulley=polea
Belt=correa
V-Belt=correa tropezoidal
Pump=bomba
oil pump=bomba de aceite
water pump = bomba de agua

If I remember more technical words I add on.

Hi. I want to ask something, it's doesn't have much sense for the theme but i always wanted to ask for it. I've been living in Spain for 5 months now, i'm learning very good the spanish.
And the question...
Why the license plates here (matriculas) are only metal? Why the cars do not have plastic housings for the plates? I will show now what i mean...

Look at the plastic cover of the plate... that's what i mean. But here in Spain i didn't see such a thing in any car?!? Why? Esta prohibido?

Yes, it is. Reglamentary license plates are metal made, according to our laws. As well its measures, different from yours.

Well this is a very good law to f*ck up your bumper or trunk with only a plate. :-k

Now acrylyc ones are also legal.

I just want to add:

camshaft = árbol de levas
Valve = válvula
Timing belt = correa de distribución
Fuse = fusible
